![]() The shoes alone boosted what I could do with the cardio workouts, so they were well worth the money. I was using a pair of running shoes at first, but those shoes are not the right support. The other purchase was the good pair of cross trainers, which really are a must. If you have carpet, I’m sure you’ll be fine. However, I have hardwood floors, and many of the workouts still caused some serious bruising on the knees, so I quickly discovered that I needed a bit more padding on the floor, which is what prompted the purchase of the rug. I had both already, so at first this was really cost free. ![]() ![]() As far as any costs that are associated with this program, one would want dumbbells and a yoga mat. ![]() BeFit in 90 has gotten me motivated, and I’ve had results. Is BeFit comparable to Insanity? I have no idea, and I don’t really care. BeFit in 90 was one of the first programs to pop up. I was not willing to fork over that amount of money for a fitness program, so I did some research to find out what was out there that was either free or low cost. One of the reasons I started BeFit in 90 in the first place was because my brother kept pushing me to try Insanity. The financial investment for the program is also worth noting. Who knew that a guilty conscience was such a great motivator for exercise! With a set calendar, though, the guilt would sink in eventually. Before I started BeFit in 90, this was often my excuse to just skip the day’s workout altogether. I would sit down, pet the cat, and then rest my eyes for five minutes, which too often turned into one hour. There were days where there was no motivation after work. Sticking to the schedule while balancing the last month of the school year and multiple social events here and there was the biggest challenge. The workouts are indeed challenging, and I did need to modify some of them all throughout the month, especially during the first half. I really do feel proud to have made it through the month without straying from the schedule at all. I caught myself more than once going through the motions (I have both videos memorized) as I stared at the rain and wind outside. As much as I like yoga and stretching, these two videos in a row made for a boring workout. I thought I would enjoy this one, but I didn’t. Day 30 was the only “light” day of the month, and it consisted of cardio, followed by the two cool-down segments. Not only would it be difficult anyway, but also I had an 11-hour day at work, so a long day plus an already tough workout made for a double-tough workout! I made it through, though. Day 29 was back-to-back -to-back strength training, the one and only sequence this month that contained 3 strength workouts in a row, and it was the toughest sequence of all. He learned pretty quickly to get out of the way.īefore I reflect on the last month, I’m going to quickly run down the last few workouts.
